The Hill Elementary School is a new building on a former school site, directly adjacent to town’s athletic field.

This required a completely new site design to accommodate the new building footprint, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, parking and outdoor play areas.

The new L-shaped building was sited with a strong community presence at the Montvale Ave and Central Ave intersection preserving the maximum site area for play and parking while eliminating noise and safety concerns. Separate bus and parent drop-off areas provide a pedestrian zone that minimizes driveway crossings.

The design provides 2 different separate play areas separated by age groups with unique identity for each. The playground design was selected by facilitating several meetings with the school principal, teachers and involved few students input as well.
